Cooking Instructions

  • Heat the Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it browns for about 5-7 minutes, ensuring it’s cooked through. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the diced onions, minced garlic, and any optional peppers you love. Sauté until they soften and become fragrant, roughly 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.
  • Pour in the diced tomatoes, including their juices, and the tomato sauce. Mix everything to combine the flavors.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer uncovered for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until thick.
  • Stir in the rinsed kidney beans and allow the chili to simmer for an additional 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld.
