Instructions

How to Make Savory Mongolian Beef Noodles

  • Toss your thinly sliced flank steak with cornstarch and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine the low-sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, fresh ginger, and a splash of water. Whisk until well blended.
  • Heat sesame oil in a wok or deep skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef in batches, about 2-3 minutes per side, until crisp and golden.
  • In the same pan, add the sliced red bell peppers and sauté for 2-3 minutes until tender.
  • Return the beef to the pan and pour in the prepared sauce. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens.
  • Add the cooked lo mein or udon noodles to the pan and toss to mix thoroughly.
  • Finish by garnishing with chopped green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

Optional: Drizzle extra sesame oil before serving for enhanced flavor.
