Instructions

How to Make Savory Asian Sesame Noodles

  • Cook Noodles: Prepare your spaghetti or lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse them under cold water to keep them from sticking together.
  • Prepare Sauce: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey or maple syrup, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth and combined.
  • Sauté Vegetables: In a large skillet or wok, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red bell pepper and julienned carrot; sauté for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet still crisp.
  • Combine: Add the drained noodles to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the sauce over the noodles and toss everything together until the noodles are evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
  • Serve: Transfer the savory noodles to a serving bowl. Garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and chopped cilantro if using. Enjoy your dish warm or chilled!
