Baking Instructions

  • Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, crumbling it as it cooks. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  • Whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl until evenly combined.
  • Mix the eggs, milk, and cooled melted butter in a separate bowl until smooth.
  • Combine the wet mixture with the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the cooked sausage, ensuring it's evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Spoon the batter into the muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the tops are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  • Serve warm, optionally drizzling with maple syrup.
