Instructions

How to Make Savory Mediterranean Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  • Slice the artisan bread into thick, even slices, aiming for about 1-inch thickness.
  • Generously spread olive tapenade on one slice of the bread.
  • Layer freshly sliced mozzarella cheese and basil leaves on top. Add chili flakes if desired.
  • Place another slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.
  • Spread softened garlic butter or brush olive oil on the outer sides of the sandwich.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
