Instructions

How to Make Savory Asian Sesame Noodles

  • Bring a pot of water to boil and cook the spaghetti or lo mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and rinse them under cold water to prevent clumping.
  • In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth and glossy.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the sliced red bell pepper and julienned carrots; sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
  • Add the drained noodles to the skillet, pouring the prepared sauce over them. Toss everything together gently until the noodles are evenly coated and warmed through, about 2 minutes.
  • Transfer the noodles to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds, sliced green onions, and fresh cilantro if desired. Enjoy your flavorful creation either warm or chilled!

Notes

Rinse the cooked noodles under cold water immediately after draining to prevent them from sticking together. For a richer taste, add extra toasted sesame oil to the sauce.
