Ingredients

For the Base

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise full-fat for richness
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream full-fat recommended
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk adjust as needed or substitute for vegan

For the Flavors

  • 1 clove Garlic fresh, grated or pressed
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill or use 3 tsp fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Parsley or fresh if preferred
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Chives or fresh for enhanced flavor
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black Pepper freshly ground preferred

For Extra Tang

  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice or White Vinegar optional, to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add in the buttermilk while whisking until your desired thickness is achieved.
  • Stir in the garlic, dried dill, parsley, and chives until well combined.
  • Sprinkle in salt and pepper, whisking again. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
  • Optionally, add a splash of lemon juice or white vinegar for extra tang.
  • Transfer the ranch dressing to a jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

Notes

For a thicker dip, reduce or omit buttermilk. Always stir before serving if it has been sitting. Can be made ahead for improved flavor.
