Instructions

Preparation

  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and layer cubed brioche or challah bread, letting it sit for about 15 minutes to dry slightly.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, pressing down gently, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix brown sugar and ground cinnamon, sprinkle over bread and drizzle melted butter on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes until set and golden-brown.
  • Let cool for 5-10 minutes, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm drizzled with maple syrup.
